President Samia reshuffles cabinet and creates new ministries.

Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu has reshuffled his cabinet and created a new ministry.

Announcing the changes, the Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Hussein Kattanga said the President has made structural changes in the three ministries.

"President Samia" has merged three ministries, which were the investment ministry under the Prime Minister's Office and also merged one trade ministry which will be called investment, industry and trade, "said Ambassador Hussein Kattanga.

In addition, as promised by President Samia, he has created the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups.

The most significant change in the cabinet reshuffle by President Samia is the creation of a new Ministry which is the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, this ministry will be headed by Minister Dorothy Gwajima who became the Minister of Health.

The Ministry of Health will now be headed by Ole Mollel.

Following the changes, the Ministry of Constitution and Law has appointed a new minister, George Simbachawene, who has replaced Professor Palamagamba Kabudi.

The Ministry of Information and Information Technology will also be headed by the new Minister and former Minister Nape Moses Nnauye.

According to Ambassador Kattanga, President Samia has also made changes in the positions of principal secretaries and deputy principal secretaries.

He has appointed Mr Hamad Yusuf Masauni as Minister of Home Affairs. Mr Masauni was the Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Finance.

He has appointed Dr. Pindi Chana as Minister in the Prime Minister's Office to handle Parliamentary policy and coordination issues.

Others are Dr. Angelina Mabula who was the Deputy Minister of Lands who has been appointed Minister of Lands Housing and Labor Development.

Tanzania Cabinet reshuffle - four castes, nine shift ministries

The Ministry of Public Service Management and Good Governance will be headed by the new Minister Jenista Mhagama who has been transferred from the Prime Minister's Office - Policy, Parliament, Labor, Youth Employment and People with Disabilities.

Former Minister of Public Service and Good Governance, Mohamed Mchengerwa will be Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports to replace Inocent Bashungwa.

Innocent Bashungwa, becomes the new Minister of Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG) to replace Ummy Mwalimu, who was transferred to the Ministry of Health.

Former Minister of Health, Dorothy Gwajima is now leading the new Ministry of Community Development Gender and people with special needs.

Former Tanzanian Ambassador to Kenya, Pindi Chana has now been appointed to head the Ministry of Policy and Parliament in the Office of the Prime Minister.

Another Minister in the Prime Minister's Office is Professor Joyce Ndalichako who will be in charge of Labor and Employment who has been transferred from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

The country's Interior Ministry will now be headed by Masauni Yusuph Masauni who has been promoted to Deputy Minister and replaces Simbachawene, who has been transferred to the Ministry of Constitution and Law.

Simbachawene replaces Prof. Palamagamba Kabudi who has been left out of the council.

Former Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Husseon Bashe is now a full-time minister replacing Professor Adolf Mkenda who was transferred to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

Another promoted deputy minister is Agelina Mabula who will lead the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Housing Development to replace William Lukuvi, a long-serving senior politician and Ismani MP for Iringa region for more than 25 years.

Dkt. Ashatu Kijaji is now the new Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade being transferred from the Ministry of Information, Communications and Information Technology and replaces Prof. Kitila Mkubo and Geoffrey Mwambe (Investment) who have been left out of the new council.

Nape Nnauye is the new Minister of Information, Communication and Information Technology, from where Dr. Kijaji came from. Nape served as head of the Ministry of Information and was removed in 2017 by President John Magufuli who passed away on March 17, 2021.

The remaining ministers are Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Liberatha Mulamula; The Minister of Finance, Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba; Minister of Energy, January Mkamba; Minister of Mines, Doto Biteko; The Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Damas Ndumbaro; Minister of Water, Jumaa Aweso; Minister of Works and Transport, Prof. Makame Mbarawa; Minister of Defense, Stegomena Tax; and Minister Office of the President - Special Functions, George Mkuchika.

New names entered in these ministries include full ministers Nape Nnauye, Pindi Chana and Hamad Masauni, Angelina Mabula and Hussein Bashe

On behalf of the deputies Ridhiwani Kikwete has been appointed deputy minister in the ministry of land, housing and housing development. Antony Mavunde Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Jumanne Sagini Deputy Minister of Home Affairs. Lemomo Kiruswa who is the deputy minister of mines, and Atupele Mwakibete the deputy minister of the ministry of construction and transport.

The cabinet reshuffle in Tanzania comes just days after Tanzania's Speaker of Parliament Job Ndugai resigned from the post on Thursday, January 6, 2022.

His resignation came amid growing pressure from various CCM leaders to demand Ndugai's resignation after talks with President Samia Suluhu Hassan over government taking loans for development.
