South African Tourism Minister Lindiwe Sisulu has targeted Ronald Lamola in response to an open letter from the Minister of Justice on Friday. Lamola denounced Sisulu's criticism of South Africa's constitution by the courts.
"Returning to court officials using arbitrary and unconstitutional means cannot pass as a debate. Attacking an institution whose job it is to defend the constitution is against the wishes of everything we wanted to change even before 1994," Lamola stressed.
"Emphasizing that judges who have complied with the high court call in our democratic dispensation is mentally ill, is a personal attack that is inevitable in any case. Moreover, to call any black person - be a judge or must be -" black, it's insulting, "he said.
On Sunday, Sisulu responded to Lamola by scolding him for writing the open letter.
