Gunmen rampaged through Anka and Bukkuyum districts, murdering dozens of people and dealt a heavy blow to authorities struggling to restore order. The minister said more than 10,000 people were displaced when "scores are still missing."

These militant Islamist groups have been killing innocent people in Nigeria every day. The government has been making efforts to ensure the safety of Nigerian citizens but there are still efforts needed to restore peace among parts of the country.
