A prominent politician in the country who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs as CCM and in 2020 to run for the presidency of the United Republic of Tanzania through ACT-Wazalendo, Bernard Kamilius Membe has a car accident today July 8, 2021 from his home in Rondo towards Lindi.
According to his aide, the accident happened at around 7.30pm but Membe came out safely and no one was injured in the accident.
Global Digital has spoken by telephone with the Lindi Regional Police Commander, and this is what he said;
"It is true that the accident was reported in the afternoon, the driver confirmed that the car belonged to the gentleman and the gentleman was in the car.
"We as the Police Force have not found Membe at the scene, we have searched for him but efforts have not borne fruit. Therefore we cannot confirm that he had an accident because we have no confirmation if he was in the car at the time of the accident.
"We are continuing with the investigation to determine the cause of the accident whether it is the negligence of the driver or it is an accident caused by a car to get an error," said RPC of Lindi.
