The Shinyanga Regional Police Force is holding Peter Elias (29) a security guard and a resident of Ndembezi in Shinyanga City for the murder of his wife Pili Luhende on suspicion of using anti-retroviral drugs (ARVs).
According to a press release issued by the Shinyanga Regional Police Commander ACP Debora Magiligimba the incident took place on May 3,2021 at 4:30 pm in Dome Street, Ndembezi Ward, Shinyanga Municipality.
The Shinyanga Regional Police Force received information that Pili Luhende was killed by Peter Elias (29), a bodyguard and resident of Ndembezi who is her husband after beating him. After the statement, the suspect was arrested and interrogated where on 06/05/2021 he showed that he had abandoned the body of the deceased in the areas of Mwagala bridge, ”Commander Magiligimba
"He also noted that he punched her with a fist and the source being the suspect to identify his wife is using HIV drugs ie ARVs so the code made him angry and they have had frequent quarrels about it," Commander Magiligimba.
He said the body of the deceased had been found mutilated and handed over to relatives for funeral arrangements and that the suspect would be brought to court as soon as the investigation was completed.
