South Africa suffers a lot of problems. today we highlight five major problems facing this country and they are as follows below.
.COVID 19 epidemic: In South Africa, there have been new cases of 4,597 Covid-19 patients being diagnosed with the virus, bringing the total number of patients to 3,559,230. The death toll has risen to 93,364 people (+86), while the survivors have risen to 3,371,004, making the country equal to 94,862 kes in progress. The total number of vaccines provided is 28,903,010. South Africa is one of the countries most affected by COVID19 in Africa, with some of the worst affected countries being the United States, Brazil, India, and England. The COVID 19 epidemic started in late 2021 in a laboratory in the Chinese city of Wuhan and spread rapidly around the world, causing people to lose their jobs and others to lose their lives. This tragedy is one of the five problems facing South Africa.
.Form Four results: The South African Department of Basic Education is facing legal challenges regarding its decision not to publish the Form Four results publicly this year 2021-2022. Three organizations have gone to court to overturn the decision, which will make it difficult for first graders to get their results, while the media will also lose funding. The department said that Form Four students will not be able to access their results on paper or online due to South Africa's new Privacy Protection Act. Since then it has provided a digital way — however, students and their parents have reportedly faced a major battle to try to register.
.Power outage: Trade unions and even state governments are seeking legal action against Eskom's plans to increase electricity prices by 20.5% in 2022. Trade unions in Nelson Mandela Bay and Pietermaritzburg have filed a lawsuit against Nersa's tactics that Eskom uses to determine its price increase. The crisis is raging as businessmen plan to protest against municipalities that are concerned about the amount of levies and the increase required by Eskom - with the South African Local Government Association seeking to remove the levy from the amount, demanding an order granting the municipality the right to unique distribution of electricity in the country.
.Sisulu: Tourism Minister Lindiwe Sisulu has spoken out three times in criticism of South Africa's constitution, writing a series of open letters criticizing the country's highest law. Critics of Sisulu have strongly condemned his stance, with many prominent politicians and political analysts in the country saying his term in office is numbered, given that 2022 is the year of the ANC election. The ANC is expected to meet this week, where Sisulu's criticism is likely to be debated.
.Markets: The South African rand strengthened on Friday, but lost its value again on the decline as the dollar rose. The South African rand has strengthened against the US dollar since late November 2021 but this may be coming to an end. The rand accumulation is likely to end as South Africa's poor economic and political situation worsens. On Monday, the rand was trading at R15.41 / $, R17.59 / € and R21.07. But despite that it is still uncertain whether the South African Rand will remain stable as the current rate is unsatisfactory.
