Tennis player Novak Djokovic is expected to be deported from Australia soon after a court on Sunday dismissed his appeal against the government's cancellation of his Australian visa on the grounds that his decision not to vaccinate endangered the country and its citizens.

Djokovic, the world's number one tennis player, has previously appealed to Australian Immigration Minister Alex Hawke for allegedly using his will to cancel his visa on the grounds that he was a threat to public health in the country because His presence inspires people to protest against the COVID 19 vaccine in Australia as the player is not vaccinated.

Chief Justice James Allsop said the Federal Court's decision was based on the legitimacy and decision of the minister in the context of the three grounds of appeal lodged by Djokovic's team.

"It is not part of the court's responsibility to decide on the merits or demerits of the decision," Allsop said, adding that the verdict was unanimously decided by three judges. The full reason for the decision will be given in the future, Allsop said.
